CHITTOOR NRIs : Uniting the Chittoor Diaspora

Hi friends,
As you all know people from chittoor district are settled/working all over the world. Chittorians constitute a large diaspora in US & Canada.

Everything may not be green for everyone landing overseas, but those who are in a position to help can change the scenario. With the sole aim of guiding & aiding Non  Resident Chittoorians and to create a platform for interaction, chittoornri's were formed under the aegis of Telugu Association of North America (TANA).

The vision of Chittoor NRIs chapter:

• Provide a unique and interactive platform to share the existence and experience
• Disseminate valuable suggestions, guidance and assistance in various matters of interest such as charity, business, employment, immigration etc
• Encourage people to lend a helping hand to one another in needy situations
• Propagate ideas, ideologies that benefit the society in general and the native land in particular
• Initiate socio-cultural and charitable activities that would make the ideologies and dreams come true

They also state that  this is only just beginning. We would like to extend the wings to cover the NRIs across the globe.

చిత్తూరు కార్పోరేషన్‌ లైన్‌క్లియర్

జిల్లాకేంద్రం, మున్సిపాల్టీగా ఉన్న చిత్తూరు ఎట్టకేలకు కార్పొరేషన్‌స్థాయి సంత రించుకోనుంది. దీనికి సంబంధించిన ఫైల్‌పై శుక్రవారం రాష్ట్ర ముఖ్యమంత్రి నల్లారికిరణ్‌కమార్‌రెడ్డి ఫైల్‌పై సంతకాలు చేశారు. 


 సుమారు 2 సంవత్సరకాలంగా ఆమోదం కోసం ఉన్న ఫైల్‌పై శుక్రవారం సిఎం సంతకం చేశారు. కార్పొరేషన్‌కు లైన్‌క్లియర్ అయ్యింది. సాధారణ పరిపాలనశాఖకు వెళ్ళాలి ఫైల్, జీవో రూపం సంతరించుకుంటే గాని ఫైల్‌కు పూర్తి స్వరూపం కాదు. నాలుగైదు రోజుల్లో పూర్తి జీవో విడుదల కావచ్చు. 


ఇదిలా ఉండగా చిత్తూరు మున్సిపాల్టీలో 37 వార్డులు ఉన్నాయి, వీటితోపాటు సమీపంలోని చిత్తూరు రూరల్ మండలం, యాదమరిమండలం, గంగాధరనెల్లూరు, గుడిపాల, తవణంపల్లె, గంగాధర నెల్లూరు, పెనుమూరు మండలాల్లోని పట్టణానికి సమీపంలో ఉన్న 16 పంచాయతీలను కలుపుకుంటూ కార్పొరేషన్ హోదాకల్పించాలని ప్రభుత్వానికి నివేదికలు పంపారు. 


 చిత్తూరుపట్టణంలో 2001జనాభా లెక్కల ప్రకారం 1,75 లక్షల మంది ప్రజలు ఉన్నారు. అది 2010 జనాభా లెక్కల ప్రకార రెండు లక్షల పైచిలుకుకు పెరగడంతో కార్పోరేషన్‌గా ఆమోదిస్తూ సి.ఎం సంతకం చేసినట్లు సమాచారం. జూలై 24 తర్వాత 16 పంచాయతీలు కలుపుకొని వాటి ఆమోదాలతో చిత్తూరు కార్పోరేషన్‌కు పూర్తి స్వరూపం వస్తుంది. 


ఇదిలా ఉండగా ఆంగ్లేయుల కాలం నుండే చిత్తూరు ఒక పెద్దపట్టణంగానే ఉంది. దీంతోపాటు తమిళనాడు రాష్ట్రం north arcot జిల్లాలో చిత్తూరు తాలుకాగా ఉండేది. మరోవైపు చిత్తూరు తమిళనాడు, కర్ణాటక రాష్ట్రాల సరహద్దులో ఉండడంతో మొదటి నుంచే ఒక వ్యాపార కేంద్రంగా, పెద్ద పట్టణంగానే ఉన్నట్లు చరిత్ర చెబుతున్నది. ఆ పెద్దపట్టణం తమిళనాడు నుంచి ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ విడిపోయిన సమయంలో చిత్తూరుజిల్లాగా, మున్సిపాల్టీ అయింది. ఆ మున్సిపాల్టీ నేటికి కార్పోరేషన్ స్థాయికి ఎదిగింది. చిత్తూరు కార్పోరేషన్‌లో సమీపంలోని మండలాల్లో ఉన్న ఎన్ని పంచాయతీలను కలుపుతారు అన్న విషయం వేచి చూడాల్సి ఉంది.

Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering Technology (SVCET) Chittoor, anISO 9001 – 2000 certified institution established in the year 1998 ranked 1st among private engineering colleges in AP & 3rd among all colleges in South India.

In a comprehensive survey conducted by Business Digest, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore stands at the first position among the top 15 private Engineering Colleges in south India. Chittoor Municipal Corporation-APPROVED

HYDERABAD: The Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department has approved up-gradation of three municipalities - Ongole, Chittoor and Khammam - one from the each region, into corporations.

The decision on up-gradation of the gram panchayats into municipalities is expected to take some time as it requires the Panchayat Raj Department to de-notify them as panchayats only if the proposals are backed by resolutions passed by the gram panchayats and supported by required documents.

As the procedures are completed and notifications are issued, 3 new municipal corporations and 8 municipalities are approved for now.

APOLLO HEALTH CITY- CHITTOOR (Final Land Allotment by AP Govt)

HYDERABAD, JUNE 16: 

Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, which met here on Thursday, has allotted 86 acres to Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (APIIC) for Apollo Hospitals' mega health park in Murukambattu in Chittoor

This is in addition to land allotted on 11 May. KGD Architects are undertaking the design work. They say that this 900,000 S.ft facility will be

"A self-contained medical community, the Apollo Mega Health City aims to set a benchmark in the realm of medical facilities not only in india, but worldwide. Modeled after faciilities such as Johns Hopkins, Stanford Medical University and Mayo Clinic, the Mega Health City contains various Colleges, R&D Labs, Hospitals and Housing."

APOLLO Scraps Medical College in CHITTOOR

Since  2008 APOLLO has been bickering about what to start in chittoor. Here is the timeline of the dilemma APOLLO is facing

18 Sep 2008: The Apollo Hospitals Group has decided to create a health knowledge city in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.-Mr Pratap C Reddy, executive chairman.


30 Jun 2010:  We are in the process of setting up  APOLLO REACH hospitals in Karaikudi, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Karimnagar and Chittoor, and plans of establishing more facilities across the country are already underway,”Dr Prathap C Reddy, chairman Apollo Hospitals


25 Dec 2010: A self-contained medical community, the Apollo Mega Health City aims to set a benchmark in the realm of medical facilities not only in india, but worldwide. Modeled after faciilities such as Johns Hopkins, Stanford Medical University and Mayo Clinic, the Mega Health City contains various Colleges, R&D Labs, Hospitals and Housing.- KGD Architecture India.

20 Jan 2011: APOLLO allotted 220 acres of land in Murukambattu by APIIC for for setting up an integrated health city with an investment of about Rs 100 crore providing employment opportunity for about 1,400 persons. It will have healthcare facility, educational and training institutes and a research centre.




28 Feb 2011: Apollo proposes to have medical colleges in Chennai, Madurai, Hyderabad and Chittoor. "We have land in all these places: - Preetha Reddy, MD of Apollo Hospitals


11 May 2011: APOLLO allotted additional 6.9 acres in murukambattu.




Now latest side step is that apollo wants medical colleges only in 3 places excluding chittoor.


5 Jun 2011: A master plan to set up three medical colleges at Chennai, Hyderabad and Madurai has been approved," - Sangita Reddy, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise executive director.




Though Dr Pratap C Reddy is committed to bring APOLLO to chittoor, we only  have to wait and watch how its going to shape up and what CHITTOOR is going to get.
