COACH INDICATION BOARDS FOR CTO STATION

Friends
All those interested in railway developments in chittoor are familiar with the delay in installing Coach Indication Boards in Chittoor station. These works were supposed to be finished in 2009 itself.

So I wrote to railways reg this on 18 july. Here is the reply
Message : Sir, although the tender for led based coach indication boards has been discharged for CHITTOOR station, the work has not yet started.kindly rectify the delay
Registration Id : '1007180026'    Time stamp : 2010-07-18 12:06:45.0

S.NoActionTaken
1Due to modification in RDSO spec, the est are recasted and are under vetting. The tenders will be refloated and work will be taken on priority.

Then to follow this up I wrote back to railways on 28 sep. Surprised this time the reply
changed putting the blame on contractor

Message : Sir, Tenders for LED Coach
indication boards are being called for
even smaller stations like markapur, but
CTO station
still lacks them even after sanction in
2009
Registration Id : '1009280017'
Time stamp : 2010-09-28 14:00:26.0

S.NoActionTaken
1Tenders have been called
and finalized for CTO earlier. Due to
non performance of contractor the
contract was terminated.
Now again tenders are called and
opening is on 8th NOV.

I have checked the tender form which is to be opened on November 8. These are the
 highlights of this tender.

1. 24 double sided led coach indication boards for each 1st and 2 nd platforms
2. One single sided coach guidance board at entrance of 1 st platform
3. Two double sided coach guidance board for each 1 st and 2 nd platform

INFRASTRUCTURE of CHITTOOR

Hi friends,
First of all any person passing through a place will look at the basic infrastructure ie roads, before even knowing abt the place. Our Ctr is no different. Any one entering a place gets the feel of that place by just looking at the roads.

Ctr being important transit point for three states, gives nothing of such feel to passers by. Any one entering or passing through Ctr feels only one thing...,, this place is most under developed and how come it is a head quarter.

Tell me friends, is there a single road which gives a great good look to Ctr. Don't tell me abt rajivgandhi road. Even 1 &2 grade towns now a days have much better roads. Ours is a selection grade municipality since 2000-01. We have to laugh at our own faces.

Todays burning problem in AP is telangana issue. They want separate state just because of a single reason ie underdevelopment. Believe me I have travelled extensively in telangana. Even small towns like kamareddy, mancherial, kodad have much better roads, atleast the main road passing through the town with good dividers and butterfly lighting. But we boast only of those roads which are same since 1970.

Go and check kadapa or even pulivendula. We will bury our heads in sand. Where are we lacking.  Why so. Why only us.  Where is the chittoor pride

Any road with good stone lined divider with greenery on it, changes the entire face of the town. Ongole, khammam and proddutur have 3 or more such roads each. But we????!want to become city when we are maintaing standards of village.  Which puppet municipal regime will change this.
Come, get elected by force or price, get purses filled and get lost. That is the policy of politicians of Ctr.  So Ctr will never change untill this changes.

I wonder why a single peoples rep in Ctr gets any idea for bettering Ctr. Be it municipal commissioner, collector, jc or dro etc etc. These people come transferred from dif places. Why are they tight lipped and hand tied reg Ctr. Don't they feel the diff between earlier work place and Ctr. Then why are they silent

Coming to some facts, our municipality had asked for funds for 4 main roads 3 yrs back viz 1. Pcr to sugar factory 2. Msr to nutrine. 3. Collectors bunglow to estate and 4. Greamspet to reddygunta. What happened to this proposal?thrown in dustbin because no politician insisted or followed

3 yrs back Hudco sanctioned several crores to AP govt for widening roads and improving drainage in municipal areas. The roads taken up for widening was 360 km.Now why didn't these funds reach Ctr. Or if it reached where were they spent. We asked for onlr 12 kms of road improvement. What happenned to that?????!!

What happens to common man if road is widened?? Initially they may lose part of land or their buiding. But once work is completed their land and commercial value increases several times to makeup for their loss. Their buisinesses wI'll flourish.ultimately everyone is benifitted.  But no one understands this in Ctr.

I hope atleast a corporation status will change this fate

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS IN CHITTOOR

1. Municipal administration minister A Ramnarayan Reddy has stated
that the upgradation process of 3 municipalities in the state is
currently on hold due to ongoing census process and restrictions
placed by central govt. He reiterated that once this is over 3
municipal bodies KHAMMAM, CHITTOOR and ONGOLE will be upgraded as
MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS by 2011 march. Hr also stated that 58 new
municipalities will be created from existing panchayats in the state.

2. Samsung digital plaza has opened on the high road showcasing all
products of samsung.

3. Deer park is being upgraded as childrens park by forest
authorities. Already the works has been started.

4. Even with heavier rains, NTR jalasayam is getting only scanty water
due to silt accumulation in the supply channels. Irrigation dept is
throwing the onus on municipal authorities who in turn are blaming PWD.

5. Indian Bank Greamspet has shifted to new building opp to old
collectorate. A new ATM was also inagurated.

RAILWAYS and DELAYS

Dear Friends,
As u have known, for my earlier SMS one month back regarding coach indication boards at chittoor station, the railways replied that tenders have been already discharged and work will be completed by September.

But as you people would have noticed that the work has not even started in station. This tender wad finalised last year but no work initiation till now. So I got puzzled. SMSed back expecting a reply that a little more delay is expected etc etc

But what i got was a shock. Now check the drama

Message : Sir, although the tender for led based coach indication boards has been discharged for CHITTOOR station, the work has not yet started.kindly rectify the delay
Registration Id : '1007180026'    Time stamp : 2010-07-18 12:06:45.0

1Due to modification in RDSO spec, the est are recasted and are under vetting. The tenders will be refloated and work will be taken on priority.

That means every thing is cancelled now  Now new tenders will be called up. Then tenders will have to be finalised. Then the contractor can start the work at snails pace at his will. We chittoreans will keep on waiting to see some basic development.

This is always what is happening to works related to cto.

Now our duty is to constantly put pressure on them till last board is fixed on cto railway platform.

All we need is strenght of no's. So pls ask your friends and coworkers from Ctr to join our association.

Yours sincerely
Venkatesh

APOLLO REACH HOSPITAL IN CHITTOOR

Apollo Hospitals, one of the largest private hospital chains in India, is setting up secondary and tertiary care facilities Karaikudi, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Karimnagar and CHITTOOR.

This is part of Apollo Hospital's programme to set up 3,000 beds across the rural areas of the country under the Apollo-Reach initiative.

Apollo-Reach initiative is aimed at by opening up hospitals in the rapidly emerging tier 2 and tier 3 cities in India.

"We are in the process of setting up hospitals in Karaikudi, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Karimnagar and CHITTOOR and plans of establishing more facilities across the country are already underway,"Dr Prathap C Reddy, chairman Apollo Hospitals has stated in reports.

According to him, setting up hospitals in rural or semi-urban areas is a rigorous, time-consuming procedure. however, Apollo's experience in setting up hospitals across the country has helped the company accurately identify cities and towns that are in urgent need of healthcare facilities.

Apollo targets to have 50 Apollo-Reach hospitals in 5 years. The Hyderabad, south Indian company aims to increase the number of hospitals to 10 from the current three Apollo-Reach hospitals and the target by 2011.

DISTRICT HOSPITAL, CHITTOOR

Friends,
these are the latest developments in chittoor

1. Chittoor District Hospital achieved ISO 2008 recognition. With this
the hospital will be upgraded to super speciality status. This status
was conferred by National Health Systems Resource Centre, which is a
central govt organisation. Along with chittoor, eluru was also
selected for this purpose.

Chittoor District Hospital will now be upgraded to 400 or 500 beds
(from present 330 beds). A modern pathology and diagnostic lab will
be established. Medical, Surgical, ENT, Eye, Ortho and Dental wings
with 2 professors and 10 junior doctors will be recruited. All the
facilities are to be upgraded to super speciality status and
greater emphasis on cleanliness. Hope all this happens fast filling
up the lacuna if much needed health care in Chittoor.

Coming to similar news, APOLLO hospitals pvt limited is going to
construct a new hospital at murukambattu with 300 bed capacity called
as APOLLO REACH HOSPITAL. The construction work is to start by
September. Presently fencing work is going on.

Recently CMC director has announced that chittoor cmc campus will
start functioning with primary health care from September. The
facilities will be sequentially upgraded.

It's showering hospitals friends.

Stand with PRIDE

Though I am strictly apolitical and personally always wished N
Chandrababu Naidu could have done a lot for Chittoor when he had the
oppurtunity as CM, i strongly condemn the behaviour of Maharashtra
govt in treating Telugu elected representatives. Whatever might be the
reason for TDPs visit, it is not how elected representatives are to be
treated. We shouldn't keep silent if our fellow statesmen are treated
shabbily.

Why is govt mum on this matter. YSR wouldn't hve remained silent. If
present govt is so afraid of political mileage, it should remember
that people are watching.

I wish Telugu people are united to stand with Pride

WAKE UP

Hi,
Today I was talking to a person from anantapur. He had been to Ctr 4 times it seems. He says it is a very backward place. It looks like a small town, no development...etc etc. I was very sad. If this is the situation nearly 100 years after Ctr formation, what next????.

He was right. He said what he observed. But what abt those idiots simply sitting in Ctr and looking at other places developing a lot day by day. But us? Even if we visit once in 2 years u will notice no change. Every road will be same. Still using same old tubelights for street lighting. Same old crowded streets. Not a single good road or a good park.

But comedy is that some people sitting there as representatives of Ctr think a lot had been done to Ctr. Ctr saw development like never before. Are these people really blind. Can't they see other towns even smaller than Ctr flourishing. We are the poorest in infrastructure
when compared to any other dist hqrs, even srikakulam and adilabad are far far better.

Even kumbhkarna had some method of waking up. But our representatives are in permanent coma. God save Ctr from them.

Demolitions at CHITTOOR Railway Station

Recently the approach road to RS was widened and a bilane cement road
was laid. But after this, last Sunday the railway authorities sudenly
came with bulldozers etc and demolished all the jaggery godowns on
either side of the railway station road.

Going into details of it-in 1968 the railway authorities permitted
jaggery merchants to build godowns in railway land for a lease of 25
yrs. After the lease was expired, it was extended for another 5 years.
Ultimately with increasing passenger numbers and revenues, railways
reclaimed this land for development. This went into legal hurdles. But
once legal sanction was obtained the demolitions took place.

Though it's good thing that railway station and premises will see
further development, sad thing is that merchants who lived for 40
years are suddenly displaced. It would have been much better if they
would have been offered land near kattamanchi market yard. Which would
have made everyone happy.

Now to wait n watch what railway authorities are going to do with this
reclaimed land.

CTRTA

Hi friends,
When I interacted with a railway official from SCR zonal office in
secunderabad , I came across few interesting things.

1. Any individual request/suggestion reg any station doesn't have any
weight reg any admin or policy approvals

2. But if it comes from a responsible community or association of
customers, the request has to be processed and sent to the hqrs with
added note on feasibility and economic viability.

3. Many major cities and towns have such associations.

So friends few of us have decided to go ahead to form an association
called

Chittoor Town Railway Travellers Association
Or
CTRTA.

Any chittoorean who travels regularly in trains, travelled or wishes
to improve railway facilities in chittoor can immediately join this
association.

All you have to do is either mail me at ctrivenkatesh@gmail.com
Or you can enter your email I'd in the comments section.

That's all you will be a member of an responsible association. You
need not attend some meetings or do something else. Everything will be
online and by mails. Railway development is most essential part in the
development of chittoor. So we request you to come join hands.

Even those who want to remain anonymous can do so by just mailing
their email id or entering it in comments section

1The work will be taken up in due course and as a part of Adarsh station.

So, I want you people also to SMS any issue or problem, or any facility you feel as needed at Ctr station to this no
As this no is new and not well known around, they are getting around 20 to 25 SMSes only per day. So every SMS is being promptly attended to, and action taken report is given. This may not be the situation once SMS no increases.

So hurry up friends. All you have do is SMS from an AP mobile no. No need to call anyone or talk to anyone. A simple SMS is enough to satisfy you that u have done something for Ctr.

Currently there are many problems in Chittoor(cto)station like:
1. The platform foot over bridge is not extended towards rtc bus station.
2. Many trains which pass through cto are not stopping at cto, incl rameshwaram-okha exp, yeshwantpur-Howrah exp, kanyakumari-Mumbai exp etc.
3. Atleast a passenger train betwen cto and chennai.
4. A second reservation counter will help a lot in easing the congestion

Latest Railway Developments in Chittoor

Friends,

As you know earlier, our CHITTOOR station has been an A class staion since 2 yrs with annual earning more than 6 crores. But the facilities were not up to the name.

I continuosly pestered railway authorities reg this thru emails, letters and SMS. Here are some of the responses from railways i got and I would like to share with u.

1. Regular passengers using our rs might have observed that station name boards are absolutely not present on the platforms except at platform ends. So I wrote to railways and got the reply

Complaint: Sir, the station name indication boards are non existent on platforms in chittoor(cto) station. It is becoming very difficult for identifying station in the night from inside train.pls provide them at the earliest.

1Works for provision of station name indication boards will be taken up in the current year i.e., 2010-11.

2. I have been discussing about the coach guidance boards in this blog. These are well lit boards which indicate the actual position where respective coach will stop, much before the arrival of train. Though tenders were called last may, they were not yet installed in Ctr station. So I took up this matter as a complaint.

Complaint : Sir, the coach indication boards for which tenders were called last year have not yet been installed at chittoor station. Pls take necessary action

1Works sanctioned in LSWP. Tender discharged. But works were stalled due to ongoing cover over platform works. Coach  guidance and at a glance info LED boards Will be provided by Nov.10.
So by nov 2010 our station will have much better amenities.

Some other developmental works taking place in Ctr station are;
3. Cover over platform will be provided fully on platform number 1.

4. Instead of DMU passengers presently running with 4 bogies, MEMU(main line multiple unit) trains with 7 bogies will be introduced soon. Already test run in this regard is completed.

5. Cover over platform for 2/3 is going on. But this 2/3 platform will only be partially covered.

6. Second foot over bridge will be constructed on south side of station.

7. Rs 3.8 crores have been allotted to chittoor to make it a model station. These funds will be spent on beautification, signages, drinking water, and platform improvement.

8. But there is one absurd plan to build a water pipeline from siddampalli station to Ctr station. Instead of wasting Money on 12 km of pipeline, they can just drill some borewells on any railway land much nearer to chittoor and better utilize saved Money on other amenities.

PS: if any one of you have been a regular passenger from ctr station, and wants to solve or bring to notice some genuine problem or any facility in Ctr station, you can do it by SMS ing to this no.

Moment of pride for CHITTOOR

Hi friends,
Another happy news to you all. Infact it's a news which we can take pride in.

The SVCET Engneering college in rvs nagar, chittoor was declared 3 rd among the top engineering colleges in AP. Infact this college stood 30th among top 50 engineering colleges in India. This was declared in a survey conducted by CSR(competion success review-the prestigious journal which every student preparing for civil services reads).

Now an institute getting these highest accolades- isn't it a moment of pride.

Another news is that the chairman of this college- ravuri venkata swami is strongly trying for deemed university status. This might compensate for the lack of a higher education institute in chittoor. This should cover the indifferent attitude of AP Govt which sanctioned 16 universities, happily forgetting that chittoor is also an dist head quarter.

CMC chittoor campus status-As reported by cmc

Here is the news article on CMC chittoor campus, courtesy cmcvellore.org

For the first time in its 110 year history, the Christian Medical College is opening a second campus. On Saturday, April 24 several hundred people gathered to celebrate this historic moment at a spot on the old Bangalore-Chennai highway, a few kilometers south of the town of Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. It is here, on over 600 acres of land purchased from the government of Andhra Pradesh that CMC will build a facility that promises in the long run to equal or surpass the present Vellore location in size and importance.

CMC Director, Suranjan Bhattacharji, envisions a university of the health sciences, which will emphasize the connections between body and spirit, the secular and the sacred, the earthly and the divine. “With the cooperation of the Andhra Pradesh government, we have purchased sufficient land to build the clinics, labs, classrooms, offices and housing we so urgently need,” remarked Dr. Bhattacharji. The April 24 event inaugurated construction of the boundary wall, the first step in opening the new property for use by CMC. Within three months, CMC expects to open the first clinic. Nurses will initiate health services with doctors arriving shortly thereafter

The chief guest, Shri C. K. Jayachandra Reddy, who represents Chittoor in the state legislature, welcomed CMC to the area. Speaking in Telugu, the language of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Reddy emphasized that CMC services will be available to all, regardless of economic and social status. Having himself been treated at CMC, Mr. Reddy affirmed the quality of care provided by CMC. He noted for the benefit of local people in the audience that CMC health professionals honored their “favorite” God through service to all of humanity. He explained that CMC was not motivated by profit, and he urged CMC to do all in its power to keep its prices within reach of the common man and woman.

The new campus is a twenty minute drive from Katpadi (Vellore) train station and a similar distance from a station at Chittoor. These rail facilities combined with the location on a highway will allow the new campus to serve patients from all over India as well as local villages. Approximately 600 patients a day come to CMC Vellore from the Chittoor area, and it is hoped that much of this flow can be re-directed to the new campus, relieving some of the pressure on Vellore outpatient clinics.

Chittoor Roads-Good days ahead?

Friends,
Atlast hopes are bright that chittoor roads will see some development. Our friend KS PRAVEEN gives the ground report.

1. The road from cb road junction passing through greamspet, Durga nagar circle, pvkn upto reddygunta is to be 4 laned by this year end.

2. Similarly the road from district court(aragonda cross) to 6 km from town limits is to be widened to 4 lane configuration.

3. Improvement and widening of Bangalore byepass(visweswarayya road ) is strongly being considered to be taken up with world bank funding by r&b department.

4. Gayathri projects which has taken up the upgradation of chittoor puttur road has started work.

5. The 4 laning of Putalapattu Naidupet road is stalled even after finalising tenders because this was converted into national highway as NH18a. Now as we know that national highways dept always had this step motherly attitude for chittoor roads, we have to wait.

6. The preliminary survey and feasibility study of 4 laning NH4 within AP is still not completed.

So the roads in and around Ctr are being taken up slowly for improvement. When they will finish ? Now a big puzzle.

I think we are already used to waiting for development. So lets wait

Indian oil -CHITTOOR: latest news

Hi friends,
you are familiar with the news that indianoil is building a pipeline from chennai to Bangalore through yadamari near chittoor. Already it has started building a scrapper and pumping station which is nearing completion.

Now the great news is indianoil board has sanctioned a bulk storage terminal at chittoor at the cost of 176 crore rupees. This new marketing terminal will come next to the existing scrapper station.

This new terminal to be called as IOCL CHITTOOR TERMINAL is coming up with a capacity of 61532 kl of petroleum products(or 61532000 liters). This terminal will be a resitement for present bulk depots in kadapa and tada. Or on other words the depots in kadapa and tada will be closed
and the personnel will be transferred to chittoor terminal which is being built to serve all southern districts of AP. Only thing they are waiting is the pollution control permission from environmental ministry.

This is a major milestone in chittoor's developmental history because this terminal will be an asset to our town ....oops "city"
