CHITTOOR GOVT HOSPITAL Leased to APOLLO For 5 Years

Today government has agreed to hand over the GH, Chittoor to Apollo group for a period of 5 years. This proposal has received some criticism from few people, especially one political group.

But, come on guys. Check the attached picture. This has been the state of entrance board for the past 10 years. All the hospital wards smell of urine, no beds are provided to pts except iron cots( that too shared by two patients at a time), no specialists available. It just feels and looks like an animal centre. Even small delivery cases and minor surgeries are turned away asking pts to go to vellore or Tirupati. Now at least things will change.

The Committee has recommended the following points for Apollo to implement:

(1)Apollo will create good ambience by landscaping the vacant areas, improving the elevation of the building and providing drainages and water supply to all the buildings in the hospital.

(2)Acute Medical care units, Intensive Care Units and Casualty Department have to be strengthened by creating new ICUs and equipping them well as very few ICU facilities are available presently.

(3) Establishment of state of the art Operation Theatre complex with at least 06 operating rooms, having all facilities for various surgical procedures.

(4) (5) (6): Strengthening of Trauma Care Services by providing additional facilities for Neurosurgery, Intensive Care, critical care and reconstructive surgery.
Provision and maintenance of Haemodialysis with around 10 machines.
Strengthening of wards of existing broad specialists like General Surgery, General Medicine, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology and Obstetrics and Gynaecology, by providing good cots, bedside lockers etc.,

(7) Separate Operation Theatres and Labour Rooms have to be provided for Obstetrics and Gynaecology department.

(8)Strengthening of Diagnostic Services by installing digital x-ray machines CT Scan, MRI, high end Color Doppler and Mammography Units in a Centralized location.

(9) A central casualty department with good number of beds and equipment for acute and intensive care as to be provided in the OPD block.

(10) An OPD block accommodating nearly 1500 out patients and having facilities for computerized registration and recording has to be developed.

MOST IMPORTANT: All services so provided by the hospital should be made available free of cost to the public.
ALL the new facilities and equipment will be given to Govt Hospital only,  after completion of 5 year lease period.

My Take: If left in the present state, this Chittoor Govt Hospital will never change even in next 25 years. At least by this lease method all the equipment and facilities will be provided and chittoor people will get much needed emergency and speciality health care in Chittoor itself.

  1. Atleast, we got the Medical college and at the same time hospital facilities will improve. After 5 years, again Apollo will increase the lease for next 10 years also with Govt.

    1. Hi satya, no one is supporting or blaming any particular party or politician. People unanimously voted against the earlier one pouring all their belief in TDP. (This has not happened even when ntr started party)
Now this belief is being shattered gradually. U are sating its only 1 and half year. But in the same period all most every other big town has got announced something or other.
If u keep waiting without raising voice, next elections will come. Vote for alternative. That alternative too will remain mute....the negligence saga continues

  14. Check the original plan given by Japanhttp://www.newindianexpress.com/states/karnataka/CBIC-Project-Peripheral-Ring-Road-Work-Soon/2013/12/12/article1941105.ece?service=print
They have removed Chittoor comfortably and added yerpedu, sricity and krishnapatnam most happily(These places don't even touch the corridor)

  17. Do you people know Japan came forward to 4 lane mulbagal-chittoor-renigunta-nayudupeta road in 2013 itself. Even today this proposal is not being given any importance by present govt.

  18. Yes.Japan wanted to help in the growth of chennai bangalore industrial corridor which includes the four laning you are talking about.

  20. Hiii i am Deepak, regular follower and fan of 'Mana Chittoor'. heard lot of news about developments in chittoor. Let me mention all. Dont know how many projects will turn reality. But hope for the best.

    1) Apollo Health City - Turning into Reality
    2) NH-4 Road Widening - Land aquisition started. Decades of waiting may turn into Reality soon.
    3) Amara Raja Growth Corridor - Already extablished and still extending. Wishing all the best.
    4) CMC - Not as expected, but running
    5) Chennai - Bangalore expressway. Land aquisition started. Big hope for chittoor development
    6) Chennai - Bangalore Industrial Corridor along Chennai - Bangalore expressway. The only project which can turn Chittoor into mega city.
    7) Kajoor lake as Bangalore Bus stand - Dont know the status
    8) Vydehi Hospital/Medical college near Iruvaram beside Neeva River - Someone have to update
    9) RVS medical college waiting for MCI approval
    10) IOC apartments for staff at Iruvaram. Work started
    11) Chittoor outer ring road from Iruvaram to Vellore road still on Map - I think no funds are there with govt to implement this project.
    12) Court may be shifted to Chennai bypass road near Jangalapalli. May not be a reality in near future.
    13) Mango market to be Vegetable market
    14) 100 ft road from Kattamanchi to collectorate and MSR to Iruvaram... Dono when it will happen

    1. Thanks for the detailed list deepak. Among them CMC is dead project. Vydehi hospital ruled out.
For rest govt projects unless the present govt really takes initiave and release funds, nothing will get completed in a time frame.

  21. WELL DRAFTED POINTS
THE PRESENT M.P MLA SHOULD BE PURSUED
SOME SENIOR CITIZENS NO POLITICAL AND SELFISH MOTIVES MUST FORM A GROUP to pursue each matter. We had to understand many issues are victims of GOVT REDTAPISAM
SEPARATE FILE FOR EACH ISSUE HAS TO BE MAINTAINED
REPRESENTING TO C.M.C VELLORE may solve that issue

    2. Its our sacred duty for every one of us to spread the need for "Change Our Chittoor"
To put pressure on politicians so that atleast they will open their voices before Govt.

  22. I like all your plans but we will need to start some where to put the pressure on govt . What would be the best way to do that .. This will need to go to CM directly as I know if we go to Mayor/ MLA/ MP they will ignore it.

    2. admin i would like to know about you, even after settling down in north india you are working for chittoor, do you have any plans for coming back to chittoor.

    3. I am settled in pune with family and everything. Once in an year or two I visit Tirumala temple and go via chittoor from Bangalore to Tirupati and back. I always kept my identity ambiguous as I feel the thought for my birth place is more important than the person or his identity. Pls bear with me. :-)

    5. ok bro, but have a plan to come back and settle in chittoor, chittoor really deserves people like you to reside here

    6. Good try guys , I really appreciate we people living in overseas or different cities trying to take some initiatives, and politicians who are supposed to do it are ignoring it which is sad.
Our chittoor doesn't have basic amenities and I see our Politian's doing 5K run and donating huge amount to AMARAVATI .. nothing wrong in supporting our capital but why don't they do something similar for chittoor development tooo

      Delete
    7. Yes I have commented few months back about same thing. Donated 2 crores to SPB music night for Hudhud victims and now 5k run for Amravati.
Can't we have the same sane heartvfor what is amongst us. Our very own chittoor in its dilapidated condition. Cant these politicians organise at least a meeting to discuss what can be done to chittoor

  24. Good to have capital city for new andhra Pradesh. But diverting all funds for it will eat away whatever is in place for other cities and towns. Central govt clearly said it will support few buildings and an ring road for new capital. Instead of pestering it for capital, pressurise central govt for funds it promised for backward districts.
Amaravati will have direct effect on sortounding 2-3 districts only. Unlike one paper which has been boasting for past one week that amaravati will greatly improve and change entire chittoor district is nothing but humbuck. We have two major metropolitan cities of Bangalore and Chennai nearer than amaravati. Improving reach and attracting investments from these cities will help us much more.
