APOLLO MEDICAL COLLEGE IN CHITTOOR

Apollo Hospitals has approached Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh state governments seeking permission to set up four medical colleges in these states. The company wants education to evolve as another business vertical.

Apollo proposes to have medical colleges in Chennai, Madurai, Hyderabad and Chittoor. "We have land in all these places. The hospital has sought clearance from the respective state governments. Once we get the no objection certificate from them and then the approval of the Medical Council of India, we will be able to start construction in the sites," Preetha Reddy, MD of Apollo Hospitals told FC.

Already 220 acres of land in murukambattu in chittoor outskirts was denotified and handed over to APIIC by district collector.

UPDATES FROM CTR

1. Chittoor municipality approved it's annual budget for 2011-12 with
an outlay of 45.96 crores. Again no mention of infrastructure
improvement like road widening, new roads etc. So we have to bear with
narrow roads and traffic.
Hope the upgradation to municipal corporation will change this.
2. Hyundai opened new showroom:RK HYUNDAI(sales branch) opp to NPS
WOMENS DEGREE COLLEGE, Greamspet.
3. Beautification of new collectorate premises and compound wall works
approved
4. New petrol bunk coming opp ITI.
5. New gold showrooms by OVC & PVR In bazaar street.
6. John players showroom coming next to MSR.
7. New AC bus to Hyderabad by JBT to start this summer.

CHITTOOR CORPORATION-NEARING REALITY

Here is the latest news report on upgradation of Chittoor, Ongole and
Khamam as municipal corporations. One interesting thing to note that in addittion to above 3 cities, the plan is to convert all district hqrs(remaining 9) as corporations.
