CHITTOOR RAILWAY STATION BUILDING - LETS BRING SOME CHANGE

Dear Friends,

As part of ManaChittoor family, and as members of CRTA(Chittoor Rail Travelers Association) we have represented several problems and got them corrected with our team effort.

# Anyone who has visited CTO(Chittoor) station building might have observed that it has become very old and dilapidated. This has remained the same since the days of meter guauge. It just looks lika a village station from the looks of the building.

# Though CTO has become a major station with 56 trains running through it and earning good revenues, SCR has neglected about the state of CTO station building and Concourse.

# Even smaller stations of guntakal and also other divisions of SCR has got better buildings with good elevation etc.

* CTO has remained the same because of no representation from our city in any manner.

Now if you really want to change this, we all can bring some change by spending just "1" rupee each. SCR listens. Yes they really record if its from public and take action.

Just send SMS from your mobile phone (only one sms per number) to 8121281212 .Mention why CTO station building is neglected and facilities should be improved.

Pls dont forget to post your replies from railways in the comments section.

    Thank you.

I totally agree with you on Balaji Division. our district is lagging a lot compared to rest of rly stations.

We have ask for more trains and good connectivity to metro cities like north and western india.

I dont know what happen to Tirupati World class or atleast model station.
about CTO station its doest look like district headquarters station at all.

We have to put pressure on our useless MLA/MP for

  17. for me the fact that there are several trains which dont stop at Chittoor, pains more than the state of the railway station building.

    12864 Yesvantpur-Howrah (daily)
    12863 Howrah-Yesvantpur (daily)
    16382 Jayanti Janta Expres (daily)
16780 Rameswaram - Tirupat (thrice weekly)
16779 Tirupati - Rameswara (thrice weekly)

and few other weekly trains dont stop at Chittoor.

More disappointing thing is that Yesvantpur-Howrah express halts at Kuppam and Tirupati - Rameswara halts at Pakala!! Does that mean Chittoor is even below Kuppam and Pakala?

Yesvantpur-Howrah express connects us to the complete Coastal Andhra and moreover it is night journey. Jayanti Janta Expres is the only train to Mumbai for us.

I strongly feel CRTA(Chittoor Rail Travelers Association) should request/demand/fight for making these trains stop first.

I really appreciate the efforts of the owner of this blog for caring about Chittoor unlike anyone else.

    1. continuing my rant,

Train to Chennai for us is still distant reality.
Even after repeated requests to extend Padmavathy Express (Tirupathi-Vijayawada-Warangal-Hyderabad) to Chittoor there is still no response.

      -Charan

      Delete
    2. Instead of asking extension, we should ask for new train from Chittoor to Hyderabad via pakala- madanapalle- dharmavaram-kurnool-hyd.

It will be beneficial rather than asking TPTY quota trains

  18. Hi Venkatesh (owner of this blog),
I suggest you to create page in facebook, by which we can make more interactive and informative. Others can also provide live updates and it would reach more people. There is one popular fb community for Chittoor - "Its My Chittoor", but it is more of Gud Morning/Good Night messages and photos of tourist places in Chittoor District. Chittoor needs proper Facebook page with the actual developmental/progress updates.

  59. two capital is also best because even in future if rayalseema and andhra are given separate state they will have developed separate capital

common capital not at all acceptable it will lead to more clashes

    ReplyDelete
  60. two capitals will survive atleast for next 30 years else state will have to separated again for separate rayalseema and andhra there should be two secretariats , two chief chief ministers one for rayalseema and one for andhra

if the people want future division which should be given in future

We need to have the mechanism setup be prepared for future consequences

    ReplyDelete
  61. also all development in once chunk should be stopped by giving land in one chunk

the development should be spread by using better roads other infrastructure always land one chunk is said

development is when it is spread all around and better roads to connect them so one chunk should not be taken for granted.

all infrastructure should be spread wide much better roads be given.

Capital is one which is to be given underdeveloped

Chittoor three states border city for years by far was neglected

What ever in all prospects we can receive with the administrative here

Dont name works all works will get completed that bwhy we badly need capital and we have huge potential to develop than present hyderabad these are all facts which one should not deny

There is only thin line betweeen can develop and cannot develop and this place is very ideal and three states tamilnadu , karnataka andhra pradesh meeting point and hub.

Chittoor city should have developed years years before will and can develop and has all the abilities and capabilities to take the state forward

The bridge gap between tamilnadu , karnataka , andhra pradesh will no more be there let me tell you these three states will collectively become major hub only when chittoor city is given the capital and will get more investments.

It is just not a joke but facts which when opened only and going deep will know and no one cannot deny and voices will stop as there will be no answer

We know it if one says yes others will say no. One says it is right other says it is wrong.

Capital should not be given to developed city

from last ten years nothing has changed significantly, only due to local MLA. and nobody is bothered about bring good infrastructure to CTR., NH4 in is getting ready from 6 lane to 8 lanes in KA,TN but what about in Chittoor still two lane( from British time).
Some Tamil groups opening organized protest to merge CTR into TN, dont we guys ashamed for that.
BUT still ppl are talking CTR as a capital

    1. Nice reply.

I think everyone knows how childish it is to wish for Chittoor to become Capital. But some insane guy is spamming this blog with his immature opinions and hopes. I wish the blog owner to delete the repetitive comments posted by this guy.

Being said that, Tirupati has potential to become one of the two capitals of residual AP. So if anyone wishes good for Chittoor town should strive for demanding Tirupati as one of the capital for Residual AP.

    1. It doesn't make much sense why they preferred Arakonam route instead of Tirupati-Chittoor route when they are not stopping anywhere between Renigunta and Katpadi. It might probably due to the fact that Tirupati-Chittoor route is single track. That's why I feel getting double track to Chittoor-Tirupati route is most important than anything else for us now.

Anyhow, being single track should not make them to bypass our route when they are not stopping anywhere between Renigunta and Katpadi via Arakonam. Moreover this route is shorter. I think if there is enough pressure/demand it might get diverted to our route.

  144. The proposed network cities model for Andhra Pradesh can ensure balanced development and its success is important to all States grappling with rapid urbanisation
In another three months, the residual State of Andhra Pradesh will not have a capital of its own. The location of the new capital city is yet to be settled and the search is on. If the reports to develop about ten cities as “specialised mini capitals” rather than investing only in one mega capital city are anything to go by, it appears that a good solution is in sight.
The proposal is to develop multiple urban nodes such as Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Chittoor on an equal footing and make one of them an administrative headquarters. This might be a political necessity in order to placate the people of the region angry at the loss of Hyderabad, but it is a sensible move. This network cities model can ensure balanced and dispersed development, and its successful implementation is not only important for the residual State of Andhra Pradesh but also to other States, which are grappling with the issue of rapid urbanisation.
Over the past few years, urban policy in Andhra Pradesh and other places had gone wayward. Resources and attention were bestowed only on one alpha city — usually the capital — creating a humongous urban agglomeration at the expense of other potential urban centres. For instance, Hyderabad had grown to become the largest urban centre in the State with a population of about 7.75 million while the next big city, Visakhapatnam, has a population of only 1.73 million. Though historic reasons and location advantage contributed to the differences in growth, myopic policies have exacerbated it and skewed the urban pattern.
    Policies that failed
Since the 1980s, various policies have been insisting on developing small and medium towns. The plan was to improve infrastructural facilities and employment opportunities in these towns and make them centres of growth. The reasoning was that developing carefully chosen places would fairly disperse urbanisation. State and central governments together spent about Rs. 1,600 crore on improving 1,854 towns, but it did not yield the desired result. In 2005, the governments concluded that big cities continued to dominate the spatial pattern of urbanisation. They gave up the policy to develop small and medium towns and started to fund only urban services projects in these places.
The residual State has a better distribution of urban centres than Telangana. There are about 32 towns with a population of more than one lakh compared to the 14 towns in Telangana. More importantly, if one leaves Hyderabad aside, eight of the nine large cities, which have a population of more than 4 lakh, are in the residual State. Most of these towns have registered more than 20 per cent growth in their population between 2001 and 2011, and possess great potential to emerge as important urban centres in future.
    The way forward
Developing them is critical to ensuring that the benefits of economic growth reach vast rural hinterlands. Drawing from evidence across the world, scholars of urbanisation such as Cecilia Tacoli have emphasised that the growth of intermediate urban centres is particularly important at times when the process of globalisation is justifying “concentration of activities in the large cities, increasing the already significant regional differences in living conditions and productivity.”
The way forward is to carefully select cities to network and plan them well to provide good quality of life; emphasise public transport, social housing and environmental protection; put in place a good governance structure; and empower local bodies.
