Now coming to our Chittoor, we have an advantage of getting gold at chennai prices which is a min 200 Rs less than AP price. Gold buisiness has picked up in chittoor in past 3 years. There are around 70 small and big goldshops in chittoor which do buisiness of 30-40 lakhs on an average day and touch 1 crore during festival and marriage seasons.
A general shift from traditional goldsmiths shops to corporate hallmarked gold showrooms is happening. This started with Chandana ramesh and Joyalukkas. Local showrooms like OVC, are also ramping up to catchup the trend.
As of today Joyalukkas is the largest showroom with widest collection. Lets see what follows
Do you see the current cable telephone wires etc etc hanging in the photo above. Its what the condition even in the busiest roads in ctr. Its worse in Church st and Bazar st where this wires touch the buildings from first floor in every other building.

hi praveen, thanks for info. But the road work from thana to estate is still not started. It is vital for ctr because it will force ctr corporation to widen road from estate to overbridge which is good for traffic and development.

Those Centres which are chaotic in the city should be regulated to allow smooth traffic movement by providing subways at all imp Circles of the city.
Shifting MBS,
The space at Collectors Bungalow,District Police Office,Old Collectorate should be utilized for construction of Multistoreyed complex,(as we have at Collectorate),meeting all the needs of office space for Dt,RD.Md, level offices etc..
All know how much space in the city goes unused which is been allotted for police welfare,especially @MTR,Top Lane.Neither Self utilized nor converted into commercial purposes,on lease basis atleast….
Read, that Mud roads are to be developed soon,two roads I know in proximity to ctr.

Regarding that Municipal complex which is planned at Gandhi Circle,its yet to start. Up. Still one show room awaiting to be demolished,in that present building.
We have that circle which is pretty narrow, no need for such a complex,,there,keeping the rate of traffic to be raised in forthcoming years .Also the spot would be apt for centenary clock to set up at.
Complete PK St, half of the DPO should be taken to vehicular movement,unless,we cant see the traffic problem to be resolved, In turn DPO can get some spacious piece of land,with in city limits…

Looking at this,though the 125+yr municipal town-TPT,(4yr old corp),146 yr old town –VLR (3yr old corp)got corporationsed earlier,all these two are going to face first time the corp,elections..along with this 95+yr old Municipal town,ctr(sandwich town)…See how lucky we get the status/honour.(don’t compare with kdp),in a short time.
VLR is to face elections with close 5.6lakh (rough estimate),89odd sq,kms,60division,..
TPT in the vest to become greater may reach close to that figure (around5 lakhs)..

Last june ’10,ctr was selected under Rajiv Awaas Yojana(RAY),but donno whats happening with that on date,
Nasty to see all those ST people,(bird catchers)worsening the cleanliness in the MBS,Cant they be shifted to n accommodated at a better place.Either municipality or Dt authorities can look into constructing house holds for them,.Also we find encroachments around that Thazhambedu road,,, its time to widen the road,shifting them onto another area.
Its easy to talk, and one more thing, people in village move to town, town people move to city,City people to abroad. Now in chittoor lot of migrated people from village live there. They can't speak much.What chittoor people require is awareness, some oneneeds to educate them and tell them fundamental rights. Right to Information act is a great weapon people in india have. They should use it effectively for the development of chittoor.we can see the change in chittoor development activities after 10 years only. From my end i will do my best for chittoor. We should form a support group and take it step by step for the development of chittoor
