These are the latest updates from chittoor (with thanks to Harish S for his contribution):

* cafe coffee day restaurant  opened at Bangalore byepass road.

* Narayana e-techno school to be opened this year in Mittoor.

* Audisankara techno school opened infront of Old collectorate.

* Kesava reddy concept school in Balaji colony beside RTC depot-1.

*Reebok store opened at MSR Junction.

* Twills Exclusive opened in OTK road.

* New Fountain and beautification at MSR junction.

CHITTOOR Corporation to be announced Tomorrow

Municipal administration minister Mr Mahidhar reddy announced that the up-gradation decision for 3 new corporations & 50 new municipalities to be taken tomorrow (on 16-5-2011) in the cabinet meeting

Update 17-5-11: Due to the visit of Congress party observer Mr Gulam Nabi Azad the cabinet meeting is postponed. If the new corporations are declared, they will be excluded from elections scheduled in july.

Apollo alloted land

APIIC has allotted another 6.9 acres of land in Murakambattu (chittoor outskirts). Apollo will develop integrated health city with an investment of about Rs 100 crore providing employment opportunity for about 1,400 persons. It will have healthcare facility, educational and training institutes and a research centre.

As some of you asked about the status of Train no 12543 and its stop at chittoor, i rechecked the IRCTC website and even booked a ticket to chittoor from KR Puram. Check the schedule for next saturday
Pls note the train runs only on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday
