Separate Rayalaseema Yatra - A CHITTOOR Perspective

Today Byreddy Rajasekhar reddy is starting his padayatra demanding separate Rayalaseema state if state division is inevitable.
If seemandhra is created it is for sure that Rayalseema will be most effected in issues of power, representation and irrigation. Moreover new capital city will be definitely created in Andhra region only.
But is separate Rayalaseema a solution??? . Though it looks good and promising on paper, the very idea has lot many hiccups.
Can a state with 4 districts survive( even if divided into 8 districts). Even minor irrigation projects cannot get funding. Major water resources will be under control of either Telangana or Andhra regions. Already seema is turning into desert and farmers will completely abandon agriculture as a whole.
Separate rayalseema will be the weakest of three new states in all the matters and will be lagging in development by decades.
So what are the options at hand. First option will be Keeping the state in present form seems better but present Telangana situation doesnt allow for this option.
Secondly if seemandhra is carved out, then a second capital needs to be created in seema region. Tirupati will be a best option for this. An autonomous governing council for seema region should be considered with major say in the matters of the governance of the region. But power hungry politicians strongly oppose this proposal and this option will have to face lot many ground issues for implementation.
Thirdly carving out of separate seema state is proposed. No doubt seema is the least developed of three regions as stated by Sri Krishna committee itself. But will separate seema state an answer for this?????
Byreddy hails from kurnool which had been the first capital for Andhra state. But situation in kurnool has never been as grim as in other seema districts. Moreover byreddy ia mostly unknown in major parts of chittoor district. It has to be noted that so far no major political party or leader has endorsed byreddy and his demand.
Though his idea of bringing the core issue of underdeveloped seema to attention is good, byreddy should first understand the ground realities in seema first. His demands should be justified by aspirations of peoples aspirations.
Now coming to the Chittoor perspective, he is almost in dark about the reality here. Does he know that
Chittoor is the only district head quarter in entire seema where a single govt educational institute even a polytechnic doesnt exist. Other 3 headquarters have govt medical college each.
In every aspect, ctr remained being neglected, being the distant most part of the state. Now if kurnool or anantapur is made capital, its not going to change anything. Already3 small and medium software companies are functioning in Ctr. Why is Software park for Chittoor is not being spoken about as it has high potential.
In the entire length of NH4 from Pune to Chennai only the part that passes through chittoor district is unwidened. It is disheartening to note that this stretch till Karnataka border and that from tamilnadu border is already widened leaving this 84 km stretch untouched. NHAI has left just this 84 km stretch from its jurisdiction. All other contemporary roads were 4 laned years back. But not a single sane voice was raised against this part of NH4 left out. Now byreddy doesnt even know this ground reality and has never raised this in his press events.
Chittoor being at the centre of two major metros, has the highest potential for industrial development among all other places in seema. But basic infrastructure creation for attracting investment was never even given a thought. As Bangalore- Nangili railway line is under plans, Chittoor Nangili railway line for which survey has already completed by SWR, will create a shortest route to Bangalore. But no MP or MLA is openly demading this implementation. Why doesn't Byreddy talk about this.

These are only few aspects of injustice in Chittoor. Unless byreddy speaks about these matters and brings them to light, he cannot expect even little support from people of Chittoor.
Hope Byreddys padayatra in Chittoor will help him understand these.

  1. Although fantastical, Rayalaseema looks like a good idea for a separate state. Chittoor, and broadly the district, will grow by leaps and bounds if it has its own administrative center. Ofcourse, there's the question infrastructure needs.

    The govt has to create the infrastructure or encourage private investment in electricity, desalniation plants for drinking water along the east coast, and also brackish water that'll be sufficient for many industries.

    The people also need to make adjustments, by giving up agriculture, given the abysmal groundwater levels in the entire region and take up skilled professions for which training should be given to them at govt expense.

    This region has tremendous scope for electronic manufacturing services, chemical industries, foundries and machine design services. Govt must get out of the way wherever necessary and let pvt firms build their own infrastructure under strict but carefully constructed and implemented regulations.

    All this is moot, if GST is introduced by the center. Unless Rayalseema gets exemption to fix its own tax rates, with huge help from the center as infrastructure fund, the new state will be doomed, because it'll be impossible to attract new industries when tax rates are the same all over India and other states provide better infra.

Successive AP Govts were receiving Bribe from Tamil Nadu or some other Goodwill to Keep Chittoor as well as Kadapa not to have any railway connectivity so that prominence of Chennai will be lost and chittoor would become more Developed city than Chennai and Chittoor will get all the waters from Kandaleru reservoir instead of chennai. That's why half Telugu population have moved to chennai / Madras who have forgotten Telugu culture and Language .

    The leftover Half moved to Bangalore - These ppl at least have good command on the Language as well as culture.
    Hope Time has come , atleast Now AP Govt will do the needful. Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, YSR as well as NTR all have looted votes from Anantapur,Kadapa and Chittoor.
    But never worked for the upliftment of ppl of these districts.

    Anantapur has Capital - 200 KMs from Bangalore
    350 KMs from Hyderabad
    490 KMs from Vijayawada
    490 KMs from Mangalore
    427 Kms from Chennai

    Krshinadevaraya International Airport beyond Gooty Junction.

    Railway Division Guntakal and Gooty will provide the required Rail connectivity.

    IT parks at Madanapalle and towards Bangalore from Anantapur

    Ring Road on lines Hyderabad,

    Gooty-Guntakal-urvakonda-Beluguppa-Kalyandurga-Dharmavaram-Tadipatri-yadiki-Gooty.

    Dharmavarma can be developed on lines of Brandix in Vizag in Apparel Technology/Textile Industry.

    Anantapur to Nellore expressway via Badvvel, Mydukur if possible connect to Ballary. we can even have the New Double line Railway connectivity on this route if Planned alone.

    Chittoor can't compete with Chennai, especially because of its access to port. Your comment on Telugus living in Chennai is in very bad taste. Chennai has been warm to Telugus atleast since the early 90s. In fact, its much easier for a telugu to do business in Chennai than in Blore i.e. set up factories, build distribution networks. There's less red tape.

    Although infra is a very basic necessity for growth, India or its states are not rich enough to supply good infra for all district headquarters in the country. So they prioritise. In this, what we need is more private sector participation. Perhaps city enclaves like Hong Kong along the coast, with manufacturing slowly moving into hinterlands after coastal city becomes very expensive.

    Mr. Rudra,I have tried to figure out the demographics thru that weblink(wikipedia) of CTR,I could only see the census 2001.Help me in realizing the same,,,

    Most probably the population would be lower than 2.2 Lakh),lets see Commissioner,CMC,come out with details at the earliest,..

    We cant directly co-realte population with illiteracy,,As India is known for its population,
    Kerala with 859 density against APs 308 still having higher literacy rate..
    Either you should have a good population to demand projects or else you
    (as an MP/MLA)should have good rapport with respective state n central Govts..Otherwise getting ignored (town/city) is quite common,,,

    Regarding this Nengali – CTR route,some body(buddy)saying the distance 165 kms,but it should be more than that, as the road distance itself comes around 184kms,the complete route of the railway line,would give the better clue…

    There was a good article presented in sakshi Main a few weeks ago,how this earlier NH4 expansion was deliberated by diverted by Mr.T.R.Balu ,MP,Sriperumbudur.who was active at centre to convert TN SH 17 (walaja – Krishnagiri) into NH 46 (old #),,,Also he was instrumental in bringing SIPCOT at Sriperumbdur,,Remember this Mannargudi- Tirupati Train was due to his pursuance,where the former is just a small town,though,,,

    This time more known to be atheist,DMK Chief,also got his home town Thiruvarur connected to Tirupati,by new train…

    There was a Rumour that Iruvaram is going to have a mini bus terminus which would handle all the blr route buses to start from n to.

  9. Agree that, know little abt Nandyal’s developments / literacy,but heard it is a hub in preparation for bank exams,As maithrivanam for comp courses,,,

    A month or 1½ months b4,as per the press release ,Ministry for Information &Broad casting chosen up towns all with 1.25 Lakh + population(in AP) till Kotha gudem,,to allow FM Radio stations to come up at,..In our Dt, CTR city to be having 3,MPL -2 , TPT – 2 more to the existing no. of Stations,,,Its been said airing would start with in three years of time,,,

    Also we have PCN / RBN as local channels which don’t live up to public’s needs/expectations.A good TV Channel n News Paper would help citizens to get their probs focused/solved out,,,Could we get to see some one in this direction,,,

    If you look at the issues taken to the notice of commissioner,CMC through Eenadu,they are more related to issues cared by line supervisor (electrical),/ Sanitary Inspector (Drains),The programe is not at all focusin on developmental aspects,as such,,,

    Also its not focusing on the newly added suburbs,,

    To address the traffic problem have to concentrate on Circles, imp Circles at the centre, MSR ,DGA,GPT,SPT,RMN (junction with Depot road) should be widened as it is at Gandhi Cr.(similar to the width of ).

    2017 100th year of Chittor Municipal Body should see CTR as well developed City,not just a Naam Ke Vaasthey….

    Rep(mla ,ctr) shown up his gratitude towards the person who made the chittoor city a reality.With a bright Grin on his face,the picture appears to be more appealing, the image of Chief Minister of AP,Mr, NKK smiling smart on the Water Tankers of CMC….

    Believe Mr,NKK is so blessed to be in the hot seat on both the times while signing n releasing the GO for Chittor Corp,his home DHQ,
    The other instance of such kind,Late YSR started the proceedings of increasing the Number of Corps in AP,with KDP,his home DHQ.

    One more similarity in both these cases, The first Commissioner of these two places after getting upgraded, is the same person,,,

    Now..
    Step #1 we are crowned up with the “city” status,,from here, how or where to head up to??

    Step #2 is to catch up with the pace of developments happening at counter parts ,of KDP,ATP (Not speaking abt TPT/KRNL as they compete to be Regional Centres)..at the earliest,,like within 7-8 yrs…

    Step # 3. To get identified at national arena,you (city) should be with either full of variety/various things (kerala or cities of kerala are known for high literacy rate,female edu etc) or else..so reaching 10 Lakh (1 million) by expanding more at the earliest,,,(Remember VSKP is grown upto 525 Sq.kms to reach 2 million,,,),yes with time,but in the shortest time span,possible

    I deeply believe we are so laggard when compared to other imp towns/ cities of AP, let ctr be a part of United Andhra,Seemandhra,RYLS,TN what ever the state the include it in,,,
    But we need complete development on par with other imp cities, n as the Cell phones penetrated so well into every nook n corner of IND, so should be the fruits of development reach the bottom/last cadre of CHITTOOR CITY..

    After Nagari which would become the third railway junction of CTR – Dt,
    Puttur more likely to become the Fourth Junction,with this Vepagunta – Uttukottai –Athipattu track on this TPT –Chennai new rail route.

    Appears theres a township coming close at.RVS Nagar

    Also Regional Office – CTR,SBI seemed to be opened.

    There was a nicely written article in eenadu to have new bridges

    we should have bridges at 1)masonics 2) new one replacing this Mahaveer jain bridge 3) three ROBs on NH-40

    River over bridges 1) Santha pet 2) Thene Banda 3) Iruvaram especially onto Gudiyattam Rd ( old bridge) 4)KMC

    Theres no movement up on this proposal Underground Drainage Work in the city, No news abt the (Natural) Gas pipe line either

    The news update we have abt the widening of RG Rd,it would start from Chowdeswari Cr – Collectorate Cr on the first phase..Already Revenue n Police are notified with the same,sooner the house owners in the way would be done so.

    This news of 51 ATMs SBI at TPT ,caught my eyes.so sat down to count the No of ATMs in CTR City, which is more wider than TPT by area,I could get only 12 which is almost 23% of former..should be like 50% of them least,

    I feel the blogger could sub categorise the ATMS under zones,
    East(CPH Rd),west(PLMR Rd),north(PH Rd),south(RG Rd),North west (kpk Rd),Central (main town)..so easy for the users to locate,may increase the hits onto the blog,by the users to get the info

  14. Got to know that under the guidance of ADGP,AP.SP Dt is doing some reorganization Police Stations n circles of CTR Dt.

    After merging new areas,
    the land value of those areas would be higher than their rural counter parts, also there is enough space forincrease in land related crimes,in these areas,hitherto

    The distance bw Gandhi Cr. – (190) Rama Pur(am) the south most limit of the city comes around 10.5kms,
    Also places like Ganga Sagar (where the New bypass to go around),Prashanth Nagar,YSR Ngr,Kukkalapalli which are at more than 6 or 7kms from the Center.

    Also cities like Anantapur has III Town PS near ATP RS..

    Taking all these to the attention of our SP,whos known for innovative n quick steps..asked him to consider setting up CTR – III town Ps at Ganga Sagar,especially keeping the interests of people dwelling in the southern most limits of city…

    On date,there is Gudipal PS at Narahari Pet at 5 kms, but it comes under Under Rural,,so asked to make arrangements to meet the needs.

    TPT has almost 6 sub divisons of Police dt( DSPs)i.e., East,West,Traffic,Crime,Tirumala,Renigunta.(didn’t quote this comparison though)
    ,Where as CTR has only one,,DSP.so asked to consider to bring up on these Circles of I Town,II Town,Traffic,Crime under CTR URB sub divison

    Remaining Rural East,Rural West,All womens,Kanipakam (if it could be upgraded to a circle ,considering recent developments) Under CTR RUR Sub Divison


    Hopefully , as theres no big issue in the letter reaching him,possibly by this week end,.he would take necessary action,

  16. Probably the first tender notice after the upgradation,CMC,was published yesterday Vaartha,amt worth Rs. 1 Cr ,work : pipe line & civil works..

    Seen that our MP getting vocal for TPT Railway Div,As TPT has own MP who can do better,supposedly .b4 the tenure our man ends up by 2014,what would be his Contribution to CTR, in all the ways..
    We should be lenient to him,as he is in opposition ,atleast can we expect following things b4 the next elections 1 ½ yrs from now

    1.All trains to be stopped at CTR ..

    Remember CTR –MP constituency constitutes 7 MLA constituencies,averagly half of the total population 2.1 Million,stretching more than 160 kms from Gudupalli – Pakala atleast,,,

    CTR RS is the Major Railway Station for the entire constituency adding to Pakala Junction n Kuppam RS,

    Are we (Ctr RS ) truly reflecting as per those above said conditions,

    Afterall,We are at the District HQ, Theres a long way to be developed to.

    2. When contacted SCR for a FOB connecting RS to CBS ,they made it clear Railways could construct from one part of its land to the other..

    So if the remaining portion could be completed through MP funds, wont it be matter of Division/zonal level..least

    3.The aim of laying this HSH way (Hosakote – Sriperumbudur) is to connect BLR – CNI by shortest route to reach in a short time..

    So,the line /rail route running parallel to it would be obviously the shortest..if he can convince Minister of State for railways Mr. K.H.Muniappa.who hails from Kolar/chikballapur Dt,..Reaching CNI & TPT from BLR through short n straight route come feasible

  17. In those good olden days,rulers tend to invade the neighbouring kingdoms to extend themselves kings of wider states.

    India which is said to be never waged a war in the past 1.5 k yrs..The modern rulers of IND ’s states.(Chief Ministers) had the same vision understandably…

    Two hard core Politicians of recent times Mr.NCB & Late Mr.YSR deep in their hearts wanted to be the Rajas of the extend state (Visalandhra),but not as cms of smaller states..

    Though both of them supported the division of AP during various moments,but the move was purely a political ploy, nothing more,.,

    Since 1995-2004 ,Mr.NCB showed up all his efficiency & concentration upon HYD,almost made it a Monolisa out from Da Vinci..

    Till 2004 the man who was his subordinate /party coworker ,could recognize this in all those 9yrs,,so started up this separatist movement..

    Believe me no one would care/worry more than as Mr..NCB would for HYD,as it is a standby Ex for his workmanship..

    Unfortunately Mr.KCR finding the ways to elope with it (HYD)…

    Next step???

    Honeymoon for KCR & Co with the former’s darling,,,,,!!!

    One thing to be noted,its not the men on the opposite side would down turn you(Even stronger YSR or any others couldn’t hit hard at him/his vision),but the men who are close/knows u better can successfully n easily do so…

  19. When the desire is deepest from the core,it is bound happen,just matter of time….

    Remember expressed concern for having less no. of SBI ATMs in comparison to TPT,the other day..Yesterday through some one whose associated with ATMs got a tip abt possibility of 10 SBI ATMs to come up with in the city…so 22 ATMs in a quick time.

    4 of its possible locations are as follows..
    1.Mittoor – either on MRO office St. or Hotel Alankar St.
    2.Ram Nagar – on Main Rd,RMN..probably close to Andhra Bank,Dargah Junction Br.
    3.Near Sindhu Towers
    4.santha pet…
    As told by, works already were started up on, opening may take from1 – 2months.

    Though we aren’t so associated with Vellore Corp now, But soon may have to look up at working in association with for the welfare n Development of CTR n VLR Cities…as Vijayawada – Guntur(atleast till Mangala Giri now) , Bengloor – Hosur are almost seemed to be merged

    Here is just an update of our sister City..

    Rs.50 Day Pass in the local buses of VLR city

    Adding to the 5 (110 KV substations) 2 more (33/11 KV) sub stations are to come up,..These two would be built on latest model,*which occupies ,less space,high efficiency * boasts only VLR is getting such SS after CNI

    City already has CNG operated Crematorium.

    Has a modern,well built Corporation Building,supported solar power.

    Not only it has one of the IND’s most prestigious medical college, CMC..Also it has Govt.Medical College at Adukkam Parai ( 10kms as CTR is from GDN)

    More importantly ,presence of CMC doesn’t affect the services of VMC in any ways,actually a DENGUE Ward has been started since 2 days..

    VLR City spreading roughly across 88kms with 5 L + population,3 Railway stations (of which 1 is Imp Railway Junction),has an airport on the BLR route(unfunctional on date)…

  20. If your looking for Enclaves/villas one more at KRP(Konga Reddy Palli) near SV Deg College.@ 26 lakhs

    After making this one way, from DGA Cr (Darga Circle ) to MSR Cr,actually the IN route : the Depot Rd,MGR St..especailly for Heavy Vehicles

    As of now ,Depot Rd seems jammed with traffic as the road is very narrow for those heavy wheelers.

    As per the Director,TCP(town n Country planning) who have confirmed the master plan n road widening work starting up sooner,,should have included this Depot Rd..

    If not ,how they are going to meet future’s traffic within coming yrs…

    As I know yesteryear musician, Late Mr.G.Venkateswara Rao @ Ghantasala is as associated to ctr as he is with TPT..infact he sung over here for setting the Gandhi Statue…(funds)

    Even people/stars from Rajahmundry set up statue for comedian late Raja Babu..Still we don’t have one for our own CVN,,Late Chittoor V. Nagaiah

    After all the rd from MSR Cr to Muthara Palli (NH 69) where the city limit ends on BLR rd,can be named after him ..

    No news/improvements (in) for the construction of Pilon symbolizing the centenary year of the DT..I feel back to Gandhi Statue (GS),I Town PS would be the apt location for the same…

    Raichur,which is not even a Municipal Corp,in KAR is to get prestigious IIT sooner (need for a higher Educational Institute in closet,is imp for the dev. of any town/city)

  21. Remember Mr.V.Seshadri,IAS under whos collectorship the centenary Yr celebrations of the dt,were carried out ..(thanx to him for celebrating all the three days in ctr)..was conferred with senior designation (like eligible for sec/PS)…

    Chittoor Dt Coop Bank with Rs.60 cr profit yr 2011-12,got some recognition under national level,credit goes to its Chairman…
    Where as CTR town coop Bank though revived after much difficulties,couldn’t make any considerable improvement…

    Though the infamous CTR Jaggery Mart at MGSD (Manga Samudram) is reportedly to be built,newly..no news abt the construction status.

    Thanx to Google for making the new numbering of NHs,easier ....

    Of this CCK Rd (Chittoor – Cuddalore – Kurnool Rd)..Kurnool –Chittoor –Chennai is identified with NH -40…

    In the remaining Chittoor – Cuddalore Rd..Only from VLR – Cuddalore is identified with NH-38…&
    Katpadi – vellore as NH 75,

    The stretch left over i.e.,bw Katpadi (NH 75) to NHP (Nara Hari Pet) (NH 40) almost15kms remains unidentified by NHs..

    As this Chittoor – Vellore Rd is all imp,in all aspects..even more vital than the Anantapur – Bhogasamudram Rd which is to be 4laned…

    Our men (reps) should work for identification of Nara Hari Pet – KPD as NH 38…After all we have Mr.Chiranjeevi,MP Rajya Sabha who has granted his MP funds to CTR Dt.also CM Ramesh ,MP ,RS (TDP)…

    Mere identification by NH wouldn’t fulfill the needs,but including it under NHDP for Fourlaning,preferably,would improvise the ties with VLR..especially from CTRs purview.

    1. Are you particular that you need the land at palamaner only or are you flexible to look out any where in chittoor or outskirts of chittoor????

      I know some agents but they are more specialised to look for lands in and around ctr.......so do let me know if you are looking around ctr so that I can be of some help to u.....

    chittoor district and balajji district will be formed soon and tirupathi will go in balaji district.

    Now the chittoor district will be separate entity with its head quaters at chittoor.

    chittoor being three states meeting point will be apt for the capital after division of andhra

    Also the railway station in chittoor will be upgraded.

    every district must have airport so surely chittoor will get airport immediately once the division takes place.

    since it is in three states meeting point will get international airport also.

    and before chittoor becomes the capital the area of chittoor town limits will be upgraded by extending 25 kms all sides.

    so once these are done chittoor will get the top position and status as hyderabad is in the present andhra pradesh.

    there is land here approved for leather park they can convert for airport
    very close to gd nellore mandal 100 gollpalli village
    so before merging tirupathi into balaji district immediately we can ask for airport in chittoor

  25. atleast now we have awaken seperate hyderabad state and seperate rayalseema is more better. hyderabad a seperate state why should we anyone involve the cosmopolitan state it should be separate from rest of the states

  28. tirupati should be made the capital of new state if any seperation is done.As major establishments and infrastructural developments are high in TPT city. so, chittoor gets fame as tirupati is in chittoor district.

  29. kurnool will be a good choice with plenty of water resources .. 2 rivers flow in the centre oif city and there is also a barrage(sunkesula dam) just 20 km away from the city. it is also near to hyd(220) , banglore(350), chennai(420 km). and it will also be nearer to coastal andhra.. let us get united and fight for our old capital... jai rayalaseema

  31. i am a fan of byreddy just with the reason that he was the main reason for keeping seema united..oherwise chithoor will be alienated from rest of seema and v will have no water (already there is no ground water).
    if he chooses good candidates i will for sure vote him
