*Atlast finally the efforts of CRTA(chittoor rail travellers asssociation) paid off. Finally after lot of deliberations coach indication boards along with At a glance boards and train information display boards are installed at chittoor railway station on all the three platforms.
*Coach indication boards are digital LED based boards which show the train details and exact position of each coach where its going to stop. So passengers can know their coach position even before train arrives and can avoid last minute running.
*CRTA has repeatedly petitioned Railway authorities since 2008 for this. Pls check the links given at the end of the post to follow the time line.

1 There is no sanction for survey between Chittoor and Arakkonam. Sanction of new surveys is done at Railway Board level.
Chittoor Railway station improved a lot these days.
ReplyDeleteHas a “train info board (TIB) carrying the details abt “train no,train name,Train timings” & Coach guidance board (CGB) which carrying the coach arrangement in the train,,
A cpl on both the PFs 1 & 2,
Cleaning personnel are seen with a red apron wear, maintaining premises well.
Water is desalinated with RO (Reverse Osmosis),its ok,but can be improved,
Loud speakers,Platform indicating boards(PIB) are well installed,looking tidy..
Near the Rear side entrance, Next to the new RPF building another park is being maintained.
Down there ,next to Track #5,High power lamp post is erected,but is yet functional.
